Summary of Junior Branch Competition
BEGINNERS (C Grades):
Your team will be 3-5 unisex players (3 playing each week). You will play two sets of doubles each (best of 10 games, players pair up as 1/2, 1/3, 2/3) from 8am to 10am.
INTERMEDIATE (A and B Grades):
The 2 hour unisex event is 8am-10am for lower grades OR 10am-midday for higher grades. A squad (usually) of 3 players in a team. Two person team playing each week. Players will be graded by unisex playing standard from “A2” downwards through B Grades. You’ll play against similar standard players who might be boys or girls. All sets are full tiebreak sets, short deuce, and you’ll each play two doubles sets, a singles set, and be an umpire or a ball kid. (so you’re involved the whole time).
ADVANCED (A1 format):
Players individually apply. Each team has Unisex grading of 5 seeds. Four in the team each week playing over 2 courts, and they play a set of doubles against players of similar playing standard, then a 3 set singles (third set is a supertiebreak). All matches long deuce. No reverse/mixed singles.
